Installing Tie Rod

Tie rod ball joint

1. 1.1 Fit tie rod -1-  and screw it as far as it will go into the rack-and-pinion -3-  by hand.
2. 1.2 Tighten the octagon -2-  using > V. A. G 1923 - open-end spanner insert, a/f 38.  Make sure not to damage the rack-and-pinion -3-  .

   > Tightening - torque 100 Nm (74 ftlb.)
