Measuring Front Brake Disc - Lateral Runout

- Fit > 9510/1 - adapter plate-1-

Adapter plate on front wheel hub
- 1.1 Fit > 9510/1 - adapter plate-1- on the hub of the brake disc -2- .
- 1.2 Fit and tighten wheel bolts -3-

Information
The front face of the wheel hub must not be corroded.
The front face of the wheel hub must be cleaned using a fine emery cloth if necessary.
- Measure lateral runout of brake disc -3-
.
Dial gauge on front brake disc
- 2.1 Secure > VAS 6079/1 - dial gauge holder for brake discs-1- at a suitable position on the wheel suspension.
- 2.2 Fit > VAS 6079 - Dial gauge-2- and adjust it so that the > VAS 6079 - dial gauge-2- is positioned 5 mm (grey castiron/PSCB brake disc) or 10 mm (PCCB brake disc) away from the outer edge of the brake disc -3- and is slightly pretensioned.
- 2.3 Zero > VAS 6079 - dial gauge-2- , slowly turn the brake disc -3- with the > 9510/1 - adapter plate-4- by one full turn and check the deflection of the dial gauge -2- .
- If the lateral runout of the brake disc is outside of the tolerance range:
Measure lateral runout of the wheel hub.
Maximum lateral runout of brake disc: 0.03 mm
