Removing Balance Shaft On Inlet Side

- Remove guide and tension rail -1 and 2-
for balance shaft timing chain.

- 1.1 Unscrew chain tensioner -3-

Remove tension rail -2-

- 1.2.1 Unscrew guide pins -4- .
- 1.2.2 Remove tension rail -2- .
- 1.3
Remove guide rail -1-
.
- 1.3.1 Unscrew guide pins -5- .
- 1.3.2 Remove guide rail -1- .
- Remove balance shaft timing chain.
Thrust piece on sprocket
- 2.1 Unscrew screw -Arrow- and remove T10368 - thrust piece-1- .
- 2.2 Remove balance shaft timing chain together with crankshaft sprocket.
Information
The screw of the coolant pump drive belt pulley has a left-hand thread.
- Remove coolant pump drive wheel -1-
.
Coolant pump drive gear
- 3.1 Unscrew screw -2- .
- 3.2 Remove coolant pump drive wheel -1- from the balance shaft -3- .
- Remove intermediate shaft gearwheel -1-
.
Intermediate shaft gearwheel
- 4.1 Unscrew screw on intermediate shaft gearwheel -2- .
- 4.2 Guide intermediate shaft gearwheel -1- out of balance shaft splines -3- and remove it.

Balance shafts
- 5.1 Unscrew screw for balance shaft on intake side -4- .
- 5.2 Remove balance shaft on intake side -1- from cylinder block.
