Installing Rear Brake CALLIPER

WARNING: Danger of injury and damage from brake fluid!

Poisonous if swallowed!
Irritation and damage to skin
Avoid contact with paint surfaces
1. Store brake fluid in suitable, labelled containers only
2. Wear protective gloves and goggles
3. In the event of contact (eyes or skin), wash immediately with water
4. In the event of contact with paint surfaces, wash off immediately with water - do not wipe off

WARNING: Old mounting parts fitted on the brake calliper

Information

Clip brake hose and electric line correctly into the combination holder on the wheel bearing housing and fix them in place.

Visually inspect all components to make sure they are in perfect condition and replace them if necessary.
Press brake pistons back to their end position using > T10145 - piston resetting appliance .
> 463856 - REPLACING REAR DISC BRAKE PADS
Install rear brake calliper -1- .

Rear brake calliper
1. 3.1 Position rear brake calliper -1- .
2. 3.2 Fit new screws for brake calliper -4- and tighten them.
  > Initial - tightening 100 Nm (74 ftlb.)
  
  > Final tightening + 90°
3. 3.3 Remove stoppers.
4. 3.4 Fit brake line/brake hose -3- on brake calliper and tighten.
  > Tightening - torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
5. 3.5 Connect and lock cable plug -2- .
6. 3.6 Position disc brake pads by pressing the brake pedal several times.
Use the PIWIS Tester to commission the electric parking brake (EPB).
1. 4.1 Select Parking brake in the control unit overview.
2. 4.2 In the Maintenance/repairs menu, select the function Commissioning.
3. 4.3 Follow the instructions on the Tester.
