Remove Rear Shock Absorber

CAUTION: Wheel carrier raised incorrectly

→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).

Information

Recommendation for workshops replacing shock absorbers/spring dampers:

Dampers can be replaced separately up to a mileage of 30, 000 km or 3 years.
If the mileage is > 30, 000 km or the components are more than 3 years old, we recommend replacing them in pairs.

Lift up wheel bearing housing.

Mounting for support T10149
1. 1.1 Turn the wheel hub so that a bore for a wheel bolt is at the top.
2. 1.2 Secure > T10149 - support to the wheel hub using a wheel bolt -Arrow- .
3. 1.3 > T10149 - support must be inserted into the > VAS 6931 - transmission and engine jack.
4. 1.4 Lift up wheel bearing housing.
Only for vehicles with PASM:
Disconnect PASM line from bracket -1- and release and disconnect electric plug connection -2- .

Release locking lugs -1- and remove stone guard -2- .

1. 5.1 Unscrew screw -2- and remove washer -3- .
2. 5.2 Remove shock absorber -1- by pulling it downwards.
