Install Rear Shock Absorber

WARNING: Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly

Risk of damage to components
1. → Wear personal protective gear.
2. → Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).

Information

Threaded joints must only be tightened in zero position to prevent warping in the bearings.

Installation is performed in reverse order, paying particular attention to the following:

1.1 Replace screws on upper shock absorber -2- .
1.2 Replace screw on lower shock absorber -2- .

1.3 Before tightening the lower trailing arm screws: Lift the wheel suspension with > VAS 6931 - transmission and gearbox jack to zero position using > T10149 - lifting.

Zero position (shown on rear axle as an example)

1.4 Tighten screws on upper shock absorber -2- .

> Initial tightening 50 Nm

> Final tightening + 90°

1.5 Tighten screw on lower shock absorber -2- .
> Initial tightening 150 Nm

> Final tightening + 180°
