Installing Shock Absorber Fork

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:

1.1 Replace clamping screw -4- and nut -5- securing shock absorber fork to spring strut.

1.2 Tighten clamping screw -4- and nut -5- securing shock absorber fork to spring strut.

> Final - tightening 90 Nm (66 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 90°

1.3 Replace screw -2- and nut -3- securing shock absorber fork to lower trailing arm.

1.4 Tighten screw -2- and nut -3- securing shock absorber fork to lower trailing arm.

> Initial - tightening 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 90°

1.5 Tighten clamping screw on upper trailing arm -3- .

> Tightening torque 45 Nm

1.6 Replace screw on connecting link for anti-roll bar -4- .
1. 1.6.1 Raise the wheel suspension as far as required on the opposite side using > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack so that the screw -4- can be fitted without any great resistance or load.

1.7 Tighten screw on connecting link for anti-roll bar -4- .

> Initial - tightening 40 Nm (30 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 90°

1.8 Tighten nut on connecting link for front angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment -1- .

> Tightening torque 9 Nm

1.9 Tighten nut securing tie-rod ball to wheel bearing housing -3- .

> Tightening - torque 100 Nm (74 ftlb.)
