Subsequent Work

  1. Install camshaft actuators.

    > 158419 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING CAMSHAFT ACTUATOR (R4) 

  2. Install new  lower chain housing cover.

    > 153319 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING CHAIN HOUSING COVER (R4) 

  3. Install new  upper chain housing cover.

    > 153319 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING CHAIN HOUSING COVER (R4) 

  4. Install spark plug for cylinder 1.

    > 287020 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING SPARK PLUGS (R4)

  5. Install cover for front underbody.

    > Refer to appropriate service information

  6. Perform reset chain elongation using PIWIS tester. 
    1. 6.1  Connect the PIWIS Tester  to the vehicle and switch on the PIWIS Tester. 
    2. 6.2  Switch on the ignition.
    3. 6.3  Start diagnostics.
    4. 6.4  Select "DME"  control unit.
    5. 6.5  Select the "Drive links/checks"  tab.
    6. 6.6  Select "All"  group and press F12 to continue.
    7. 6.7  Select menu item "Reset timing chain elongation after replacing chain",  then press F12 to continue.
    8. 6.8  Press F8 to start.
