Removing Engine Wire Harness For Body

Information 

The plug connections and number of fixing clips may differ depending on the country and equipment.

1. Remove position of -1-  cover -1-  for E-box/relay carrier.

   E-box cover

   1. 1.1 Unscrew and remove fastening screws -1-  .
   2. 1.2 Open E-box cover and remove it.
   3. 1.3 Unscrewing fastening screw -2-  for B+ line.
2. Release and disconnect electric plug -1-  on the relay carrier.

3. Pull grommets -2-  for the wire harness with the relay carrier up out of the E-box.
4. Release and unplug position of -2-  plug connection for -1-  windscreen.

5. Unclip two retaining clips -2-  for the windscreen line using a plastic spatula.
6. Release and unplug position -3-  , B+ -1-  plug connection in the plenum panel.

7. Unclip three retaining clips -2-  for the B+ line on the body using a plastic scraper.

8. Release and unplug all electric connectors -1-  that are accessible from above.

9. Approx. Unclip 13 retaining clips for the engine line at the top using a plastic scraper.

10. Open line bracket -1-  and remove line.

11. Unclip four retaining clips -2-  using a plastic scraper.

    Remove engine wire harness for body in the transmission area. 

12. Before removing the transmission support, use a > VAS 6931 - transmission and aggregate jack  and a soft base (e.g. Styrodur) to support the rear part of the transmission -3-  .

13. Loosen transmission support -1-  .

    1. 13.1 Mark the position of the transmission support -1-  for re-installation.
    2. 13.2 Unscrew screws on transmission support -2-  .
14. Releasing and unplugging electric connectors -1-  .

15. Unclip four retaining clips -2-  using a plastic scraper and open the tie-wrap.
16. Re-install transmission support and relieve the load on the transmission.

    Carefully remove the engine wire harness to body by lifting it up and out of the engine compartment. 

17. Pull piping -1-  up and lift grommet -2-  for engine wire harness at the body upwards.

18. Carefully remove engine wire harness from the engine compartment.
