Removing Battery-Starter Wire Harness (From External Power Connection To Starter)

1. Remove cover -1-  at the jump-start point.

2. Disconnect positive cables at the jump-start point.

   1. 2.1 Screw off fastening nut -1-  and remove positive cable -2-  from positive cable (B+) -3-  .
   2. 2.2 Unscrew connection terminal -4-  at the jump-start point and remove positive cable (B+) -3-  at the jump-start point.
   3. 2.3 Unscrew fastening nut -5-  for positive cable -6-  at the jump-start point.
3. Disconnect electric plug connection -1-  .

   1. 3.1 Unclip electric plug connection -1-  from retaining clip -2-  .
   2. 3.2 Release primary lock -arrow a-  .
   3. 3.3 Release secondary lock -arrow b-  and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  .
4. Disconnect battery-starter wire harness (from external power connection to starter) -1-  at the cowl panel.

   1. 4.1 Disconnect engine wire harness -2-  from clip -3-  .
   2. 4.2 Unclip bracket -3-  for wire harness from battery to starter (from external power connection to starter) -1-  at the cowl panel.
   3. 4.3 Unclip bracket -4-  for wire harness from battery to starter (from external power connection to starter) -1-  at the cowl panel.
5. Loosen wire harness sleeve -1-  on the cowl panel.

   1. 5.1 Carefully move seal -2-  to the side.
   2. 5.2 Unclip holder -3-  for wiring sleeve -1-  in the wheel housing at the top right.
6. Unclip bracket -1-  for wire harness from battery to starter (from external power connection to starter) -2-  at the body.

   Information 

   One or two electric plug connections for the fans must be disconnected, depending on the engine type.

7. Disconnect electric plug connection -1-  .

   1. 7.1 Release primary lock -arrow a-  .
   2. 7.2 Press secondary lock -arrow b-  and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  .
8. Release and pull off electric plug connection -1-  (-arrow a-  ).

9. Screw off fastening nut -2-  and remove ground line -3-  .

10. Disconnect battery-starter wire harness (from external power connection to starter) -1-  at the potential distributor.

    1. 10.1 Release cover -2-  on the potential distributor and fold it down.
    2. 10.2 Screw off fastening nut -3-  and remove B+ positive cable from the potential distributor.
    3. 10.3 Open bracket -4-  and remove wire harness from battery to starter (from external power connection to starter) -1-  .
11. Unclip breather hose -1-  from the holders -2-  for the wiring duct -3-  .

12. Release wiring duct -3-  (-arrow a-  ) and disengage it by pulling it up out of the longitudinal member.

13. Remove battery-starter wire harness (from external power connection to starter) -4-  by pulling it downwards.
