Securing Main Wire Harness In Passenger Compartment At The Left
NOTIFICATION
Incorrect handling of main wire harness
- Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.
→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.
→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.
NOTIFICATION
Incorrect handling of optical waveguides
- Risk of damage to optical waveguide
→ Observe the requirements for working with and installing optical waveguides.
Information
Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!
- Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work.
- Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation.
- Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts.
- Secure in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
Make sure that the individual sub-parts of the wire harness in the passenger compartment at the left are not twisted or entangled.
Check that the wire harness is routed correctly and without tension so that no chafing occurs.
Clip all electric lines for the main wire harness in the passenger compartment at the left in securely at the designated positions.
Lock all electric plug connections by hand and push them on until they engage securely.
Tighten fastening nut securing ground line to the body to > Tightening - torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) .
Tighten fastening nuts securing ground line to ground point to > Tightening - torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) .
