Removing Instrument Cluster

NOTIFICATION 

Voltage peaks 

• Risk of damage to electrical load or to the control unit 
  1. → Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key outside of the transmission range (at least 5 m).
  2. → Switch off electrical loads before disconnecting or removing them.

Information 

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

• Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work. 
• Do not remove new part from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation and only at the installation position. 
• Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts. 

1. Move steering column to its lowest, rearmost position.
2. Cover steering column with a clean, soft cloth.
3. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  from the instrument cluster -2-  .

4. Carefully pull instrument cluster at the right out of the dashboard.
5. Release electric plug connection -1- (-arrow a-)  and pull it off the instrument cluster -2-  .

6. Carefully pull instrument cluster at the left out of the dashboard.
7. Release clip -1- (-arrow a-)  , swivel it down and disconnect electric plug connection -2-  from the instrument cluster -3-  .

8. Remove instrument cluster by pulling it to the left.
