Disassembling Rear-View Mirror

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment. 
• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant. 
• Some steps must be carried out automatically. 
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. 

1. Remove mirror glass.
   • WM, 667819 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING MIRROR GLASS 
2. Remove rear-view mirror housing (upper part).
   • WM, 66791901 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR-VIEW MIRROR HOUSING (UPPER PART) 
3. Remove mirror adjusting motor (mirror glass).
   • WM, 668219 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING MIRROR ADJUSTING MOTOR (MIRROR GLASS) 
4. Remove rear-view mirror housing (lower part).
   • WM, 66791903 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR-VIEW MIRROR HOUSING (LOWER PART) 
5. Remove mirror adjusting motor (folding function).
   • WM, 668219 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING MIRROR ADJUSTING MOTOR (MIRROR GLASS) 
6. For vehicles with standard mirror base:

   Remove mirror base cover.

   • WM, 66791901 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR-VIEW MIRROR HOUSING (UPPER PART) 
7. For vehicles with V-shaped mirror base:

   Remove cover on V-shaped mirror base.

   • WM, 66791901 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR-VIEW MIRROR HOUSING (UPPER PART) 
8. Unclip wire harness for rear-view mirror -1-  at the mirror base -2-  .
