Installing Wiper Arm

Information 

Make sure not to damage the front lid when removing and installing the wiper arm. Close the front lid if necessary.

Information 

To counteract deformation of the wiper rubber that occurs when it is at rest, the wiper arm is alternately moved to two different parked positions.

Only remove and install the wiper arm in lower parked position.

Before removing or installing the wiper arm, actuate the wiper and make sure that the wiper arm moves to the lower parked position.

1. Fit wiper arm on the windscreen wiper linkage in such a way that dimension -a-  > Nominal value 30 mm  and dimension -b-  > Nominal value 34 mm  is guaranteed.

2. Tighten fastening nut -1-  to > Tightening - torque 32 Nm (24 ftlb.)  until secure.

3. Press on the cap -1-  .

4. Switch on the windscreen wipers, switch them off again and wait until they come to a stop.
5. Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key outside of the transmission range (at least 2 m).
6. Measure dimension -a-  > Nominal value 30 mm  and dimension -b-  > Nominal value 34 mm  again and adjust wiper arms again if necessary.
