Removing Padding For Front Seat

Information 

The mat for the occupant classification system must not be damaged or detached from the front seat padding.

1. Only for vehicles with heated seats:

   Electric plug connection for heated seats

   1. 1.1 Release electric plug connection for seat heating -1-  (-arrows a-  ) and disconnect it -arrow A-  .
   2. 1.2 Release electric plug connection for seat-surface extension -2-  (-arrow b-  ) and disconnect it -arrow B-  .
2. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for occupant detection (Bodysense).
3. Detach front seat cover.

   Cover for front seat

   1. 3.1 Remove clip -1-  .
   2. 3.2 Detach front seat cover -2-  at the sides -arrow A-  .
4. Unscrew screws -3-  and pull the bracket -4-  down out of the catches -arrow B-  .

5. Detach front seat cover at the sides -arrows C-  .

   Seat surface extension

   1. 6.1 Detach front seat cover -arrows D-  .
   2. 6.2 Only for vehicles with seat-surface extension: 

   Detach cover on seat-surface extension -arrows E-  .

7. Detach front seat cover at the sides.

   Cover for front seat

   1. 7.1 Press in expansion rivet pin -5-  and pull out expansion rivet -5-  .
   2. 7.2 Detach front seat cover at the rear -arrow F-  .
   3. 7.3 Detach front seat cover at the sides -arrows G-  .
8. Detach front seat cover at the rear -arrows H-  .

9. Guide front seat cover forward and remove it -arrows I-  .

    Straps for seat-surface extension

    1. 10.1 Lift up padding for front seat at the rear.
    2. 10.2 Slide bar -1-  on front seat cover back -arrow A-  .
    3. 10.3 Disengage strap for seat-surface extension -2-  and guide it through in a downward direction -arrow B-  .
    4. 10.4 Loosen 4 red clips in the rear area on the securing wire.
11. Remove front seat cover together with the front seat padding from the seat frame.
