Removing Clutch Master Cylinder
- Risk of squashing or bruising
→ Do not reach into the danger area.
→ Relieve the tension on components before starting work.
→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.
- Release electric plug connection on the clutch master cylinder -arrow a-
and disconnect it -arrow A-
.

NOTE: Aggressive fluids- Risk of damage to components and surfaces
→ Do not spill fluids.
→ In the event of contact, wash the component or surface with water.
→ Replace components that are already damaged.
Information
Brake fluid is hygroscopic! Close off all lines immediately using suitable stoppers.
Brake fluid will flow from the lines. Place a cloth under the clutch master cylinder.
- Risk of damage to components and surfaces
- Disconnect the supply and pressure hoses on the clutch master cylinder.
Hydraulic lines for clutch slave cylinder (removal)
- 2.1 Pull off supply hose -1- (-arrow A- ) and close it off using a suitable stopper.
- 2.2 Release the lock -2- using a screwdriver -arrow b- .
- 2.3 Pull off pressure hose -3- (-arrow B- ) and close it off using a suitable stopper.
- Disengage push rod for brake booster (in the footwell).
Pressing out push rod
- 3.1 >T40024 - Unlocking tool-1- must be inserted ahead of the ball joint on the push rod -2- from below.
- 3.2 Press the unlocking tool together -arrows A- and separate the ball joint from the retaining clip -3- (-arrow B- ).
- Remove bearing pedestal screws from outside (plenum panel).
- 4.1 Unscrew screws -Arrows- from above brake booster.
Installing screws securing mounting saddle to the body from outside (as shown in figure)
- Loosen mounting saddle screws -1- in the passenger compartment.
- Secure power spring assembly -2- on the dismounted mounting saddle.
- Loosen clutch master cylinder from the clutch pedal -2-
.
Disengaging push rod
- 7.1 Release retaining clip for push rod -1- on the clutch pedal -2- using >T10005 - pliers (-arrows A - ) and pull out the push rod -arrow B- .
- 7.2 Turn the clutch master cylinder anti-clockwise by approx. 60° -arrow A-
