Removing Oil Cooler
WARNING:
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
→ Avoid contact with hot fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
CAUTION:
Hot components
- Risk of burns
→ Let hot components cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
- Clamp off coolant hoses using >Nr.192 - hose clamping pliers
(-1 and 2-
).
Hose clamping pliers for coolant hoses on oil cooler
- Disconnect coolant hose -4-
from the oil pump.
- 2.1 Position a suitable container under the vehicle to catch escaping coolant.
- 2.2 Release spring band clamps -2- using >VAS 6890 - spring band clamp pliers and disconnect coolant hoses from the power electronics -4- .
- 2.3 Catch escaping coolant.
- 2.4 Loosen spring band clamps -1- using >VAS 6890 - spring band clamps pliers .
- 2.5 For reasons of accessibility, coolant hose -3- is only disconnected when removing the oil cooler.
Coolant hoses on oil cooler
- Disconnect electric wiring harness -1-
.
- 3.1 Release and disconnect cable plug -2- .
- 3.2 Unclip clips -3- .
- 3.3 Hang electric wiring harness -1- to the side.
Electric wiring harness PDK
- Disconnect cable plug -1-
.
- 4.1 Release and disconnect cable plug -1- .
- 4.2 Disengage cable plug -1- from holder -2- .
Wire harness on parking lock cover
- Disconnect electric wiring harness -1-
.
- 5.1 Unclip clips -2- .
- 5.2 Hang electric wiring harness -1- to the side.
Electric wiring harness PDK
- Remove oil cooler.
- 6.1 Position a suitable container under the vehicle to catch escaping oil/coolant mixture.
- 6.2 Unscrew screws -13 to 1- .
- 6.3 Remove oil cooler and disconnect the top coolant hose.
- 6.4 Catch escaping oil/coolant mixture.
