Installing Cover
WARNING:
Vehicle can fall down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle
→ Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
→ Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
→ Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
→ Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.
→ The outer jacking points should be used primarily.
Information
The outer edge of the cover must end flush with the transmission housing.
- Prepare new cover -1-
.
- 1.1 Coat the outside of the new oil seal -2- with transmission oil.
- 1.2 Place cover -1- on >9692 - assembly aid-3- and position it under the workshop press.
- 1.3 Position the oil seal -2- together with >9234 - pressure piece-4- on the cover -1- .
- 1.4 Carefully press the oil seal -2- as far as it will go into the cover.
Oil seal
- Install new
cover -1-
.
- 2.1 Fit cover -1- with oil seal on the transmission housing.
- 2.2 Tap in cover -1- as far as required using >P299 - pressure piece and a hammer until the outer edge of the cover ends flush with the transmission housing.
