Removing Transmission Mount

WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components 
  • Risk of squashing or bruising

    → Do not reach into the danger area.

    → Relieve tension on components before starting work.

    → Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

Tools required: 

  1. Spray transmission mount mounting with anti-rust agent to make it easier to pull it out.

    Foot pump

    • The spindle T10254/5 has a rated load of 9 tones and must only be loaded with a pressure of 200 bar.
    • Use a protective helmet with a visor.
    • Use protective gloves.
    • Do not actuate the >VAS 6179 - foot pump  pedal at the same time as the pressure relief valve -Arrow-  .
    • Connect >VAS 6179/1 - pressure gauge with connecting line  and read off the pressure.
  2. > 9951 - Assembly fixture  must be secured on transmission mount -2-  .
    1. 2.1 Insert the mandrels of the retainer plate 9951/2 -1-  through the old transmission mount -2-  .
    2. 2.2 Fit countering plate 9951/3 -3-  and screw on nuts -4-  as far as they will go by hand.
    3. 2.3 Screw threaded rod T10254/5  into retainer plate 9951/2 -1-  .

    Assembly fixture on transmission mount

  3. Remove transmission mount -1-  .
    1. 3.1 Fit sleeve 9951/1 -2-  on threaded rod T10254/5 -3-  .
    2. 3.2 >VAS 6178 - Hydraulic cylinder-4-  must be fitted on threaded rod T10254/5 -3-  . Then, connect it to >VAS 6179 - foot pump  .
    3. 3.3 Screw on nut T10254/4 -5-  as far as it will go on the threaded rod T10254/5 -3-  .
    4. 3.4 >VAS 6179 - Foot pump  must be connected to compressed air.
    5. 3.5 >VAS 6178 - Hydraulic cylinder-4-  must be blasted with pressure for as long as required until the rubber mounting is pressed completely out of the transmission.
    6. 3.6 Remove tools -2 to 5-  and dispose of old transmission mount -1-  .

    Tools used during removal

    Information 

    Never use machining tools for cleaning the contact surfaces of the transmission mount.

  4. Clean the contact surfaces of the transmission mount in the transmission housing.
