Installing Transmission Mount
WARNING:
Preloaded or pressurized components
- Risk of squashing or bruising
→ Do not reach into the danger area.
→ Relieve tension on components before starting work.
→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.
Tools required:
- > 9951 - Assembly fixture (Observe maximum load of 72 KN!)
- > T10254 - Assembly fixture
- > VAS 6178 - Hydraulic cylinder (Only use hydraulic cylinder set to "Setting 1"!)
- > VAS 6179 - Foot Pump
- Lightly grease the transmission mount mounting.
- Mark new transmission mount -1-
.
- 2.1 Fit transmission mount -1- on the mounting and align it with the markings -2 and 3- .
- 2.2 Copy markings -2 and 3- onto the new transmission mount -1- using a coloured marker or water-resistant pen to make it easier to position it when pressing it in.

9951 - Assembly fixture
must be secured to the new
transmission mount -2-
in the same way as for removal.
- 3.1 Insert the mandrels of the retainer plate 9951/2 -1- through the new transmission mount -2- .
- 3.2 Fit countering plate 9951/3 -3- and screw on nuts -4- as far as they will go by hand.
- 3.3 Screw threaded rod T10254/5 into retainer plate 9951/2 -1- .
Assembly fixture on transmission mount
Information
A tilted or misaligned transmission mount must not be pressed in further.
If the transmission mount was not positioned correctly, it must be removed and fitted again.
- Install new
transmission mount -1-
.
- 4.1 Fit new transmission mount -1- on the transmission using >9951 - assembly fixture-2- and align it with the markings.
- 4.2 Fit sleeve 9951/2 -3- on threaded rod T10254/5 -4- .
- 4.3 >VAS 6178 - Hydraulic cylinder-5- must be fitted on threaded rod T10254/5 -4- . Then, connect it to >VAS 6179 - Foot Pump .
- 4.4 Screw nut T10254/4 -5- as far as it will go onto the threaded rod T10254/5 -4- .
- 4.5 >VAS 6179 - Foot Pump must be connected to compressed air.
- 4.6 Check alignment of the new transmission mount -1- . Align the transmission mount -1- with the markings again if necessary.
- 4.7 >VAS 6178 - Hydraulic cylinder-5- must slowly be blasted with slight pressure. Then, carefully press the new transmission mount -1- several millimeters into the mounting.
- 4.8 Check that the new transmission mount -1- is aligned correctly and is fitted straight in the mounting. Check markings!
- 4.9 >VAS 6178 - Hydraulic cylinder-5- must be blasted with pressure for as long as required until the transmission mount -1- is completely pressed into the transmission.
Tools used during installation
Information
The transmission mount must end flush with the mounting on both sides.
- Remove tools and check the position of the transmission mount in the mounting.
