Removing Transmission Support

Information 

Do not support the transmission at the ATF pan.

1. Support double clutch transmission.
   1. 1.1 >T40173A - Gearbox support  must be positioned under the double clutch transmission with >VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack  .
2. Support rear axle carrier with >VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack  .

   Information 

   The procedure for removing and installing is described for one side as an example. The procedure for the other side is practically identical.

3. Loosen trailing arm -1-  .
   1. 3.1 Unscrew nut, remove screw -2-  .
      1. 3.1.1 Replace nut and screw.

4. Only for vehicles without PDCC:

   Loosening connecting link -1-  .

   1. 4.1 Unscrew nut -2-  and counter at the articulated bolt on the connecting link.
      1. 4.1.1 Replace nut.

5. Only for vehicles with PDCC:

   Loosening connecting link -1-  .

   1. 5.1 Unscrew nut -2-  and counter at the articulated bolt on the connecting link.
      1. 5.1.1 Replace nut.

6. Only for all-wheel drive vehicles:

   Loosen mounting plate for rear cardan shaft mounting -1-  .

   1. 6.1 Loosen screws -2-  .
      1. 6.1.1 Replace screws.

7. Loosen rear axle carrier -1-  and lower it slightly so that there is a larger gap with respect to the transmission.
   1. 7.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2 and 3-  .
      1. 7.1.1 Replace screws.

8. Loosen transmission support -1- 
   1. 8.1 Loosen nuts -2-  .

   Transmission support

   Information 

   Transmission must not touch the rear-axle carrier when being lowered.

9. Remove transmission bracket -1-  .
   1. 9.1 Unscrew nuts -2-  .
   2. 9.2 Unscrew and remove screws -4-  .
   3. 9.3 Carefully lower the transmission until the transmission bracket can move freely.
   4. 9.4 Guide out transmission bracket -1-  by pulling it forward.

10. Remove transmission support -1-  .
    1. 10.1 Unscrew nuts -2-  .
    2. 10.2 Guide out transmission support -1-  .
