Removing Double Clutch Transmission
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle
→ Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
→ Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
→ Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
→ Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.
→ The outer jacking points should be used primarily.
Information
- When raising the vehicle, take care to maintain access to the screws for the diagonal struts close to the rear jacking points.

- Protect the drive shafts from mechanical damage.
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Vehicles with PDCC:
Remove PDCC lines.
- 1.1 Open clamp -1-
and pull hose -2-
off the line.

- 1.2 Position container for collecting Pentosin.
- 1.3 Unscrew union nuts -1-

- 1.4 Unclip PDCC lines -LHD vehicle -
from the brackets -1-

- 1.5 Remove bracket -LHD vehicle -

- 1.5.1 Unscrew screws -1- .
- 1.5.2 Remove bracket -LHD vehicle - .
- 1.6 Leave PDCC lines hanging in a safe place.
- 1.1 Open clamp -1-
and pull hose -2-
off the line.
- Loosen drive shafts on the transmission side.
- 2.1 Unscrew screws -Arrows-
.
Counter at the wheel to prevent it from turning as well. Get another person to help if necessary.
- 2.2 Remove screws -Arrows- together with the plates -1- .
- 2.3 Suspend the drive shaft in a safe place using a tie-wrap.

- 2.1 Unscrew screws -Arrows-

- Disconnect cable plugs on the double clutch transmission.
- 3.1 Release and disconnect three cable plugs -1-

- 3.2 Release and disconnect cable plug on engine speed pulse sender -1- .

- Disconnect B+ line.
- 4.1 Open cap -1- and unscrew nut -2- .

Information
Make sure that the engine is positioned securely on the transmission jack. To do this, set the correct angle on the transmission jack.
- Support double clutch transmission and engine.
Information
Lifting the double clutch transmission at the ATF pan is not permitted!
- 5.1 Support double clutch transmission.
- 5.1.1 Position >T90003 - support-1- with >VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack-2- under the double clutch transmission.
- 5.1.2 Make sure that the styrofoam elements T90003/1 -3- and T90003/4 -4- are positioned correctly.
- 5.1.3 Check that all fastening parts -Arrows- are fitted securely.
- 5.1.4 Carefully lift up >VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack and re-adjust the angle of the >T90003 - support if necessary.
- 5.1.5 Secure double clutch transmission using >9454 - strapping belt-5- .
- 5.2 Support the engine.
- 5.2.1 Position another >VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack-6- under the engine. Do not raise the engine yet .
Supporting engine and gearbox
- 5.1 Support double clutch transmission.
- Remove transmission support and transmission bracket.
- 6.1 Unscrew screws -1- and nuts -2- .
- 6.2 Carefully lower the double clutch transmission using >VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack .
- 6.3 Remove transmission bracket -3- .
- 6.4 Unscrew nuts -4- and remove transmission support -5- .

- Disconnect wiring harness at the transmission.
- 7.1 Right side:
Unscrew screws -3 and 4-
, release and disconnect cable plug -5-
and disconnect wiring harness at the double clutch transmission -Arrows-

B+ line in cable guide
- 7.2 Left side: Release and disconnect cable plugs -1, 2 and 3- . Unclip connector housing -4- and wiring harness -Arrows- .

- 7.1 Right side:
Unscrew screws -3 and 4-
, release and disconnect cable plug -5-
and disconnect wiring harness at the double clutch transmission -Arrows-
.
- Disconnect vacuum line -1-
from disc valve.

- Unscrew screw on disc valve -2-

Thermal management disc valve
- Loosen coolant hoses -1-
.
- 10.1 Clamp coolant hoses. Use clamping pliers or >3093 - hose clamp to do this.
- 10.2 Position container for collecting coolant underneath.
- 10.3 Remove spring clamps -Arrows- and pull off coolant hoses -1- .
- 10.4 Close off coolant pipes on the engine side using suitable stoppers.

- Use >VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack to support the engine over a large area of the oil pan.
- Prepare tools for the flange screws and get another person to help. >Recommended tools for flange screws

→ Observe guidelines for assembly and disassembly
Information
- The splines of the transmission shaft must be removed completely from the flywheel before tipping off the transmission.
- If this is not done, the diaphragm spring on the flywheel will be damaged and the flywheel must be replaced.

- Remove double clutch transmission.
- 13.1 Loosen and unscrew screws in the sequence -1 to 6- with the help of another person.
- 13.2 Pull double clutch transmission forward until the transmission shaft is separated completely from the flywheel splines.
- 13.3 Carefully lower the double clutch transmission. Make sure not to damage any cables, lines and hoses.

Check that the guide sleeves between the transmission flange and engine flange remain in the engine flange.
Information
- Check the diaphragm spring on the flywheel for mechanical damage before installing it.
- A damaged flywheel must not be installed!
- Check diaphragm spring -1-
on the flywheel for damage.
There must be no dents or mechanical damage!
- 14.1 The flywheel must be replaced if there are signs of damage -Arrow- on the diaphragm spring -1- .
