Preliminary Work
- The ignition must be switched on in order to check and adjust the wheel alignment of vehicles with rear-axle steering correctly. This has the effect of blocking the tie rods (rear-axle regulator) in the correct position.
- Connect a battery charger to ensure that no undervoltage occurs.
- To check and set the wheel alignment on vehicles with front axle lift correctly, the vehicle must be lowered during alignment.
Information
Toe difference angle and caster cannot be adjusted.
- Prepare vehicle for checking or adjusting wheel alignment values. Place front wheels on turntable and rear wheels on rotary/sliding plates.
- Compress the vehicle as far as possible (by a few millimetres) at front and rear axles twice or three times and allow it to spring back freely.
