Preparing The Vehicle (Vehicles Without Central Wheel Lock)

  1. Drive the vehicle onto the wheel-alignment stand without tension. Ensure that axle components are not under tension by moving the vehicle forward and backward several times if necessary.
  2. Remove hub caps -1-  from all four wheels using >9229/1 - puller hook  .

    Information 

    Contact surfaces of the wheel hub bore -1-  must be clean and smooth. Even minor contamination (e.g. paint residues) in the wheel hub bore can result in incorrect measurements.

    When fitting the quick-clamping unit -1-  , make sure that the centering ring -2-  is fitted correctly. The tool designation on the centering ring -2-  must be legible by the worker, but not necessarily at the top.

  3. > VAS 6918 - Quick clamping device  must be clamped in the wheel hub bore on all four wheels.
  4. Fit measured-value pickups to the >VAS 6918 - quick-clamping unit  on all four wheels.
