Removing Pump

Information 

• Cover engine openings (e.g. intake openings, crankcase, lines, open reservoirs, etc.) to prevent dirt and foreign bodies from getting into the openings. 
• Ensure absolute cleanliness at all times! 
• Steel flexi-pipes must not be kinked or crushed. 
• Close off PDCC lines using suitable stoppers if the pump will not be installed immediately. 
• Observe safety requirements!

Information 

Use only one suction device that is used exclusively for Pentosin, not for any other fluids.

Extracted Pentosin must be disposed of in accordance with regulations.

1. Remove Pentosin from the reservoir.
   1. 1.1 Extract Pentosin using a suitable suction device.
   2. 1.2 Collect emerging Pentosin.
2. Slacken the drive belt -1-  .
   1. 2.1 >9952 - Ring wrench-3-  must be fitted on the hexagon of the tensioner -2-  . Then, turn it clockwise as far as it will go and hold it at this position.
   2. 2.2 Remove drive belt -1-  from the pulley on the generator.
   3. 2.3 Carefully guide the tensioning roller back to its original position.

3. Loosen holder for air-conditioning compressor -1-  .

   1. 3.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .
   2. 3.2 Move holder -1-  aside.
4. Only for Carrera:

   Release and disconnect left plug connection -4-  from the acoustic simulator -1-  on the body.

5. Loosen resonator -1-  for tank ventilation.

   1. 5.1 Release and disconnect quick connector -2-  for vent line.
   2. 5.2 Unclip brackets -3-  .
   3. 5.3 Move resonator -1-  aside.
6. Release and disconnect quick connector -2-  for vent line -1-  .

7. Loosen rubber sleeve for the pressure line -1-  from the bracket -2-  .

8. Release and disconnect the return line -1-  from the reservoir -2-  using the >VAS 6933 - disassembly tool  .

   1. 8.1 Close off the return bore on the reservoir using a stopper.
9. Disconnect pump -1-  .

   1. 9.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2 and 3-  .
10. Remove pump -3-  .

    Electric plug connection and pressure line

    1. 10.1 Carefully lift the pump -3-  until the electric plug connection -1-  and banjo bolt -4-  for the pressure line -2-  are accessible.
    2. 10.2 Unscrew banjo bolt -4-  and remove pressure line -2-  .
    3. 10.3 Close off the return bore on the pump with a stopper.
    4. 10.4 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  .
    5. 10.5 Remove -3-  pump together with the reservoir and guide out of the engine compartment.
