Checking Hydraulic Fluid
WARNING:
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
NOTE:
Aggressive fluids
- Risk of damage to components and surfaces
→ Do not spill fluids.
→ In the event of contact, wash the component or surface with water.
→ Replace components that are already damaged.
- Run engine for approx. 20 seconds.
Information
A dipstick with markings is fitted on the cap of the reservoir and is used to measure the fluid level.
- When the engine is cold, the fluid level must be within the hatched area above the Cold marking on the dipstick.
- When the engine is hot, the fluid level can be above the hatched area.
- When the engine is stopped and cold, open the reservoir and check the fluid level.
- Fluid level too low:
- 3.1 Fill the reservoir with Pentosin CHF 202.
- 3.2 Start the engine again. The fluid level must not fall.
- 3.3 Top up again if necessary until the fluid level is in the required area.
- Fluid level too high:
- 4.1 Remove fluid using a clean fluid extractor.
- 4.2 Check the fluid level again.
- 4.3 Repeat the process until the fluid level is in the required area.
