Bleeding PDCC
- Risk of damage to components and surfaces
→ Do not spill fluids.
→ In the event of contact, wash the component or surface with water.
→ Replace components that are already damaged.
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Pentosin leaking

→ Perform visual inspection for leaks.
Information
- The reservoir must always be replaced if the following components are replaced: hydraulic pump, valve blocks (front and rear axle)! This does not affect the replacement of PDCC actuators (connecting links between spring strut and anti-roll bar).
- If system faults still occur after replacing a component (another component is faulty), the reservoir does not have to be replaced again!
- Only Pentosin CHF 202 may be used in the reservoir.
- The reservoir must not be sucked dry! This is likely to damage the hydraulic pump and contaminate the system.
- Overfilling the system can cause Pentosin CHF 202 to overflow onto coolant hoses and other components.

Depending on the quantity of fluid required, the fluid level in the reservoir can drop rapidly when the engine is running.

A dipstick with markings is fitted on the cap of the reservoir and is used to measure the fluid level.
- When the engine is cold, the fluid level must be within the hatched area above the Cold marking on the dipstick.
- When the engine is hot, the fluid level can be above the hatched area.

- Fluid level with cold engine: Temperature 20° Celsius , fluid level within the hatched area above the Cold marking between position -1 and 2- .
- Fluid level with hot engine: Temperature 80° Celsius , fluid level can be above the hatched area.
- Open the reservoir.
- Fill the reservoir with Pentosin until the fluid level remains constant.
- Briefly start the engine, let it run for approx. 1 second and add Pentosin again. Repeat this process several times until the fluid level in the reservoir remains constant when the engine is running for a short time.
- Start the engine again and leave it running at Idle speed. If the fluid level continues to drop, keep adding Pentosin until the fluid level remains constant in the reservoir. If the oil level drops to the bottom of the reservoir, or if a lot of air bubbles rise to the surface and/or a significant amount of foam forms in the reservoir, air is still present in the hydraulic system. It is quite normal for a few air bubbles to appear in the reservoir immediately after topping up.
- Switch off the engine and set the correct fluid level.
- Close the doors and front lid.
- Perform PDCC commissioning using PIWIS Tester.
- 8.1 Connect the PIWIS Tester to the vehicle and start the PIWIS Tester. Switch on ignition.
- 8.2 Start the diagnostic software.
- 8.3 Select "PDCC" control unit.
- 8.4 Select the Maintenance/repairs tab.
- 8.5 Press F12 to select "Commissioning PDCC" procedure.
- 8.6 Follow the instructions on the Tester.
- Repeat the bleeding process twice

Then open the reservoir. Check the fluid level and hydraulic fluid when the engine is running and top up with the required amount of Pentosin. The fluid level must no longer fall and only a few air bubbles may circulate. There must be a significant reduction in the amount of air bubbles and/or foam formation compared to Step See .
- If this is not the case, the bleeding process must be repeated.
If the fluid level continues to drop, the system must be visually inspected for signs of leaks! Repeat the bleeding process following repairs.
