Subsequent Work

  1. Install front-axle cross member.

    400919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT-AXLE CROSS MEMBER - information on "Installing"

  2. If the power-steering gear was replaced, the following steps must be carried out:
    1. 2.1  Code power-steering gear.
      1. 2.1.1  Connect the PIWIS Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
      2. 2.1.2  Start the diagnostic software.
      3. 2.1.3  Select control unit Power-steering  .
      4. 2.1.4  Select 'Coding/programming  ' in the menu.
      5. 2.1.5  Select Automatic coding  with F12  .
      6. 2.1.6  Follow the instructions on the Tester.
    2. 2.2  Calibrate steering-angle sensor.
