Installing Bellows For Steering-Gear Housing

  1. Replace clamps.
  2. Fit bellows for steering-gear housing -1-  .

    1. 2.1  Push steering-gear housing bellows -1-  as far as it will go onto the steering gear and position as shown -Illustration-  .

      Positioning bellows

    2. 2.2  Fit clamp -3-  using > V.A.G 1275A - Hose clip pliers  .
    3. 2.3  Fit clamp -2-  using > VAS 6856 - Spring Band Clamp Pliers  .
  3. Applies only to the left side of the vehicle on vehicles with all-wheel drive:  Secure additional coolant pump -1-  on the front-axle cross member.

    Additional coolant pump

    1. 3.1  Fit holder -3-  and tighten screws -2-  . > Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.) 
  4. Only for right-hand side of vehicle:  Fit TPM control unit -1-  on the front-axle cross member. -arrow A-
