Installing Line From Front Left Sensor To Triggering Unit
NOTE:
Incorrect handling of main wire harness
- Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.
→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.
→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!
- Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work.
- Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation.
- Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts.

- When installing the wire harness, make sure the insulation of the line is not damaged.

- The new lines will be secured to the fastening points for the old lines.
- The old wire harness remains installed in the vehicle.
- The old wire harness will only be disconnected/unplugged directly at the connected components.
- Drill through feed-through element in the firewall. > Diameter 5 mm
- 1.1 Make sure not to damage any lines in the passenger compartment.

- Route section of line for front left sensor along the main wire harness.
- 2.1 Guide section through the existing cable ducts and tie it to the main wire harness with tie-wraps.

- 2.2 To do this, pull the carpet at the left aside at the right-hand side close to the heating/fresh-air unit.

- 2.1 Guide section through the existing cable ducts and tie it to the main wire harness with tie-wraps.
- Plug in new lines on contact strip -arrow-
until the contact engages securely.

- 3.1 Push in lock for plug connection.
- 3.2 Push in cover for plug connection.
- Plug in plug connection for airbag sensor.

- Seal the feed-through element.
- 5.1 Check that the new airbag lines are routed correctly.
- 5.2 Seal the bore from inside and outside with suitable sealing compound.
