Installing Wire Harness For Engine

  1. Install engine wire harness -1-  .

    Engine wire harness

    1. 1.1 Insert engine wire harness -1-  into line guide -2-  and pre-position individual wiring harnesses.
    2. 1.2 Slide engine wire harness -1-  in -direction of arrow-  and onto the holder -3-  .
  2. Secure wiring harness for air-conditioning compressor -1-  .

    Wiring harness for air-conditioning compressor

    1. 2.1 Route wiring harness for air-conditioning compressor -1-  .
    2. 2.2 Clip in clip -5-  on refrigerant line.
    3. 2.3 Connect electric plug connection for coolant pump -4-  until it locks securely.
    4. 2.4 Clip in clip -3-  .
    5. 2.5 Connect electric plug connection for air-conditioning compressor -2-  until it locks securely.
  3. Connect electric line for terminal 50 -2-  to the starter and fit and tighten nut -1-  .

    > Tightening torque 6.5 Nm (5 ftlb.) +/- 1 Nm

  4. Fit protection cap for starter -1-  , clip it in and check that it is fitted securely.

  5. Secure wiring harness for knock sensor on cylinder bank 1 -1-  .

    1. 5.1 Route wiring harness for knock sensor on cylinder bank 1 -1-  .
    2. 5.2 Secure wire harness holder -3-  with a cable holder to the coolant line.
    3. 5.3 Connect electric plug connection for knock sensor -2-  until it locks securely.
  6. Install holder for vacuum valves -1-  .

    Holder for vacuum valves

    1. 6.1 Fit holder for vacuum valves -1-  .
    2. 6.2 Screw in and tighten screws on holder for vacuum valves -6-  .

      > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 

    3. 6.3 Clip line -4-  into holder -5-  .
    4. 6.4 Push on plug-in couplings -3-  and check that they are fitted securely.
    5. 6.5 Push on plug-in couplings -2-  until they lock securely.
  7. Connect electric plug connection for vacuum valves -1-  until it locks securely.

  8. Secure wiring harness for high-pressure pump for cylinder bank 2 -1-  .

    1. 8.1 Route wiring harness for high-pressure pump for cylinder bank 2 -1-  .
    2. 8.2 Connect electric plug connection for oil-pressure sender -3-  until it locks securely.
    3. 8.3 Connect electric plug connection for high-pressure pump -2-  until it locks securely.
  9. Secure wiring harness for high-pressure pump for cylinder bank 1 -1-  .

    1. 9.1 Route wiring harness for high-pressure pump for cylinder bank 1 -1-  .
    2. 9.2 Secure line bracket -5-  to the coolant line.
    3. 9.3 Connect electric plug connection for camshaft controller on intake side on cylinder bank 1 -4-  until it locks securely.
    4. 9.4 Connect electric plug connection for fuel high-pressure sensor -3-  until it locks securely.
    5. 9.5 Connect electric plug connection for high-pressure pump -2-  until it locks securely.
  10. Secure wiring harness for tank vent valve -1-  .

    Tank vent

    1. 10.1 Route wiring harness for tank vent valve -1-  .
    2. 10.2 Insert wire harness holder -3-  and check that it is fitted securely.
    3. 10.3 Connect electric plug connection for tank vent valve -2-  until it locks securely.
    4. 10.4 Only for China or USA:

      Connect electric plug connection for tank ventilation pressure sensor until it locks securely.

  11. Secure wiring harness for fuel high-pressure sensor -1-  .

    1. 11.1 Route wiring harness for fuel high-pressure sensor -1-  .
    2. 11.2 Clip in clips -5-  .
    3. 11.3 Connect electric plug connection for knock sensor -4-  until it locks securely.
    4. 11.4 Connect electric plug connection for camshaft sensor -3-  until it locks securely.
    5. 11.5 Connect electric plug connection for fuel high-pressure sensor -2-  until it locks securely.
  12. Secure wiring harness for fuel low-pressure sensor.

    1. 12.1 Route wiring harness for fuel low-pressure sensor.
    2. 12.2 Clip in clips -2-  .
    3. 12.3 Connect electric plug connection for fuel low-pressure sensor -1-  until it locks securely.
  13. Secure wiring harness for cylinder head on cylinder bank 2 -1-  .

    Cylinder head wiring harness, cylinder bank 2

    1. 13.1 Route wiring harness for cylinder head on cylinder bank 2 -1-  .
    2. 13.2 Connect electric plug connection for pulse sender -9-  until it locks securely.
    3. 13.3 Connect electric plug connection for coolant temperature sensor -8-  until it locks securely.
    4. 13.4 Connect electric plug connection for valve lift adjustment -7-  until it locks securely.
    5. 13.5 Clip in clips -6-  .
    6. 13.6 Position ground lines and screw in and tighten screws -5-  .

      > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.4 ftlb.) 

    7. 13.7 Connect electric plug connection for camshaft sensor -4-  until it locks securely.
    8. 13.8 Connect electric plug connections for fuel injectors -3-  until they lock securely.
    9. 13.9 Connect electric plug connections for ignition coils -2-  until they lock securely.
  14. Secure wiring harness for cylinder head on cylinder bank 1 -1-  .

    1. 14.1 Route wiring harness for cylinder head on cylinder bank 1 -1-  .
    2. 14.2 Connect electric plug connection for valve lift adjustment -7-  until it locks securely.
    3. 14.3 Clip in clips -6-  .
    4. 14.4 Position ground lines and screw in and tighten screws -5-  .

      > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.4 ftlb.) 

    5. 14.5 Connect electric plug connection for camshaft sensor -4-  until it locks securely.
    6. 14.6 Connect electric plug connections for ignition coils -3-  until they lock securely.
    7. 14.7 Connect electric plug connections for fuel injectors -2-  until they lock securely.
  15. Secure wiring harness for oil-level sender -1-  .

    1. 15.1 Route wiring harness for oil-level sender -1-  .
    2. 15.2 Clip in clips -3-  .
    3. 15.3 Connect electric plug connection for oil-level sender -2-  until it locks securely.
  16. Secure wiring harness for camshaft controller for cylinder bank 2 -1-  .

    1. 16.1 Route wiring harness for camshaft controller for cylinder bank 2 -1-  .
    2. 16.2 Clip in clip -6-  .
    3. 16.3 Connect electric plug connection for camshaft controller on intake side -5-  until it locks securely.
    4. 16.4 Connect electric plug connection for camshaft controller on outlet side -4-  until it locks securely.
    5. 16.5 Install heat shield on camshaft controller on outlet side -2-  .
      1. 16.5.1 Position heat shield on camshaft controller on outlet side -2-  .
      2. 16.5.2 Screw in and tighten screws on heat shield -3-  .

        > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 

  17. Secure wiring harness for coolant regulator and camshaft controller -1-  .

    1. 17.1 Route wiring harness for coolant regulator and camshaft controller -1-  .
    2. 17.2 Clip in clip -8-  .
    3. 17.3 Connect electric plug connection for camshaft controller on outlet side -7-  until it locks securely.
    4. 17.4 Install heat shield for camshaft controller -5-  .
      1. 17.4.1 Position heat shield for camshaft controller -5-  .
      2. 17.4.2 Screw in and tighten screws on heat shield for camshaft controller -6-  .

        > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 

    5. 17.5 Connect electric plug connection for coolant regulator -4-  until it locks securely.
    6. 17.6 Install heat shield for coolant regulator -2-  .
      1. 17.6.1 Position heat shield for coolant regulator -2-  .
      2. 17.6.2 Screw in and tighten screws on heat shield for coolant regulator -3-  .

        > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.) 

  18. Secure wiring harness for oil pressure control valve -1-  .

  1. 18.1 Route wiring harness for oil pressure control valve -1-  .
  2. 18.2 Clip in clip -3-  .
  3. 18.3 Connect electric plug connection for oil pressure control valve -2-  until it locks securely.
