Preliminary Work

  1. Loosen ground strap for battery.

    > 978509 LOOSENING AND SECURING GROUND STRAP FOR BATTERY 

  2. Remove rear wheel housing liner at the left.

    Refer to the appropriate service information.

  3. Remove trim panel for seat well.

    Refer to WM, 702919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRIM PANEL FOR SEAT WELL

  4. Disconnect main wire harness in passenger compartment at the left.

    > 970909 LOOSENING AND SECURING MAIN WIRE HARNESS IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AT THE LEFT 

  5. Remove carpet.

    Refer to WM, 704119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CARPET
