Loosening Main Wire Harness In Passenger Compartment At The Right

NOTE: Incorrect handling of main wire harness

Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Information

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work.
Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation.
Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts.

Disconnect ground lines in right footwell -4- .
1. 1.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for power distributor -1- .
2. 1.2 Loosen the fixing clip -2- .
3. 1.3 Unscrew fastening nuts -3- from ground lines -4- .
4. 1.4 Remove ground lines -4- .

Ground line
Remove relay carrier in right footwell -3- .
1. 2.1 Screw off fastening nuts -1- .
2. 2.2 Release locking lug -2- .
3. 2.3 Remove relay carrier -3- (-arrow- ).

Relay carrier
Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1- on the relay carrier.

Release and disconnect electric plug connections for front-end electronics control unit -1- .

Disconnect main wire harness in the right footwell.
1. 5.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1- on the amplifier.
2. 5.2 Loosen the fixing clip -2- .
3. 5.3 Open cable guide -3- (-arrow- ).

Release and disconnect electric plug connections.
1. 6.1 Release and unplug electric plug connection -1- .
2. 6.2 Unscrew fastening nut -3- and remove ground line -4- .
3. 6.3 Loosen fixing clips -5- .

Fastening points
Disconnect main wire harness at the B-pillar.
1. 7.1 Release and unplug electric plug connections -1- .
2. 7.2 Unclip cover on cable guide -2- and remove it -arrow- .
3. 7.3 Remove fixing clips -3- .

Fixing clips
Release and disconnect electric plug connections.
1. 8.1 Release and unplug electric plug connections -1 and 2- .
2. 8.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connections on control unit for spoiler -3- .
3. 8.3 Unscrew fastening nuts -4- for ground lines -5- .
4. 8.4 Remove ground lines -5- .
