Loosening Main Wire Harness In Passenger Compartment At The Left

NOTE: Incorrect handling of main wire harness

Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Information

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work.
Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation.
Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts.

Release and disconnect electric plug connections for front-end electronics control unit -1- .

Electric plug connection
Remove fuse box -6- .
1. 2.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for wire harness for dashboard -1- .
2. 2.2 Unscrew fastening nuts -2- and remove ground lines -3- .
3. 2.3 Screw off fastening nuts -4- .
4. 2.4 Release locking lug -5- and remove fuse box -6- (-arrow- ).

Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1- at the fuse box.

Electric plug connections
Loosen fastening points.
1. 4.1 Unscrew fastening nut -2- and remove ground lines -3- .
2. 4.2 Loosen fixing clips -4- .

1. 5.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for seat belt -1- .
2. 5.2 Unclip cover on cable duct on B-pillar -2- and remove it -arrow- .
3. 5.3 Loosen fixing clips -3- .

Release and disconnect electric plug connections.
1. 6.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connection for transmission control unit -1- .
2. 6.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for gateway control unit -2- .
3. 6.3 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for seat-belt buckle -3- .
4. 6.4 Loosen fixing clips -4- .

Release and disconnect electric plug connections.
1. 7.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections at rear cross-over -1- .
2. 7.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connection for control unit for engine mount -2- .
3. 7.3 Release and unplug electric plug connections -3- .
4. 7.4 Release and disconnect electric plug connection on acceleration sensor -4- .
5. 7.5 Unscrew fastening nuts -5- and remove ground lines -6- .
