Installing Brake Master Cylinder

Information 

• During assembly work at hydraulic connections, all electric plug connections in the connection point area must always be connected. This prevents the inside of the plug connect ions from being splashed with brake fluid or water. 
• Clean any plug connections that have become dirty or damp during removal and assembly work using a lint-free cloth. 
• Brake fluid on electrical contacts (even thinned brake fluid) causes corrosion and may result in faults in the system. 
• Remove any escaping brake fluid immediately; rinse with water and dry thoroughly if necessary. 

1. Replace all seals on the brake master cylinder.
2. Fit brake master cylinder -1-  on the brake booster -2-  .

   1. 2.1  Tighten nuts -3-  . > Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.) 
3. Fit brake lines -1-  on the brake master cylinder -2-  .

   1. 3.1  Tighten cap screws -3-  to > Tightening torque 16 Nm (12 ftlb.)  and secure brake lines in the bracket -4-  .
4. Connect plug connection (for brake fluid level indicator).
5. On vehicles with manual transmission:  Fit lines (to the clutch master cylinder and return line from the clutch slave cylinder) at the brake fluid reservoir.
