Remove Spreader Device

Information 

• From week 48/2021, only one spreader device/one actuator is installed on the rear left wheel bearing housing on all 992 vehicles with Porsche double-clutch transmission (PDK) apart from GT variants. 
• There is only one spacer/dummy on the rear right wheel bearing housing that does not function. 
• When replacing the right wheel bearing housing, the removal and installation of the s pacer is identical to the previous component. 

Information 

• The spreader device (actuator) is fitted on the rear axle wheel bearing housing. 
• If the spreader device (actuator) is to be re-used, secure it in the brake shoe mountings with a tie-wrap to prevent it from turning. 
• The twist lock must not be removed until the brake shoes are installed. 
• The brake shoe mountings must not be twisted. 

1. Remove brake disc cover plate -1-  (not required on GT3 vehicles).

   1. 1.1  Unscrew screws -2-  on cover plate.
   2. 1.2  Remove cover plate -1-  .
2. Disconnect electric lines for spreader device -1 and 2-  .

   1. 2.1  Release and disconnect cable plug on spreader device -3-  .
   2. 2.2  Unclip electric lines -1 and 2-  from the holder -4-  .
3. Remove spreader device -1-  .
