Removing Brake Shoes

1. Mark installation position of the brake shoes and adjustment device.
2. Loosen adjustment device -1-  completely using a suitable tool (e.g. a screwdriver).

   WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components

   • Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs.

     → Do not reach into the danger area.

     → Relieve the tension on components before starting work.

     → Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

     → Wear protective gloves and goggles.

     → Be very careful when working on the brake system.

3. Remove brake shoes -1-  .
   1. 3.1 Press compression springs -2-  in slightly using a suitable tool, turn by 90° and remove them.
   2. 3.2 Disengage tension springs -3-  .
   3. 3.3 Remove brake shoes -1-  together with adjustment device -4-  .

4. Secure spreader device (actuator) -1-  of the electric parking brake using a tie-wrap -2-  to prevent it from turning.
