Measuring Front Brake Disc - Lateral Runout (Wheel Hub)
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Information
The front face of the wheel hub must not be corroded.
The front face of the wheel hub must be cleaned using a fine emery cloth if necessary.
- Measure lateral runout of the wheel hub.
- 1.1 > 9510/1 - Adapter plate-2- must be fitted on the wheel hub. Then, screw in and tighten wheel bolts.
- 1.2 Secure dial gauge -1- with ball joint arm from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm at a suitable position on the wheel suspension.
- 1.3 Adjust dial gauge -1- from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm so that the dial gauge -1- is touching the outer edge of the wheel hub with slight preload.
- 1.4 Set dial gauge -1- from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm to zero, turn the wheel hub at the > 9510/1 - adapter plate-2- slowly by one full turn and check the deflection of the dial gauge -1- .

- Only for vehicles with central wheel bolts:
Measure lateral runout of the wheel hub.
- 2.1 > 9510/1 - Adapter plate-2- must be fitted on the wheel hub.
- 2.2 Position wheel driver pins -3- .
- 2.3 Screw in and tighten screws for wheel driver pins -4-

- 2.4 Secure dial gauge -1- with ball joint arm from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm at a suitable position on the wheel suspension.
- 2.5 Adjust dial gauge -1- from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm so that the dial gauge -1- is touching the outer edge of the wheel hub with slight preload.
- 2.6 Set dial gauge -1- from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm to zero, turn the wheel hub at the > 9510/1 - adapter plate-2- slowly by one full turn and check the deflection of the dial gauge -1- .

- If the lateral runout of the wheel hub is not within the tolerance range:
Replace wheel hub.
