Measuring Front Brake Disc - Lateral Runout (Wheel Hub)

Information
The front face of the wheel hub must not be corroded.
The front face of the wheel hub must be cleaned using a fine emery cloth if necessary.
- Measure lateral runout of the wheel hub.
- 1.1 > 9510/1 - Adapter plate-2- must be fitted on the wheel hub. Then, screw in and tighten wheel bolts. > Tightening torque 160 Nm (118 ftlb.)
- 1.2 Secure dial gauge -1- with ball joint arm from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm at a suitable position on the wheel suspension.
- 1.3 Adjust dial gauge -1- from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm so that the dial gauge -1- is touching the outer edge of the wheel hub with slight preload.
- 1.4 Set dial gauge -1- from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm to zero, turn the wheel hub at the > 9510/1 - adapter plate -2- slowly by one full turn and check the deflection of the dial gauge -1- .

- If the lateral runout of the wheel hub is not within the tolerance range:
Replace wheel hub.

if the lateral runout of the brake disc is not within the tolerance range, but the lateral runout of the wheel hub is within the tolerance range:
Replace front brake disc.
