Removing Front Drive Shaft (With Central Bolts)

You will need a second mechanic to help you with this step.

Loosen front drive shaft.

Wheel hub on central bolts
1. 1.1 Get a second mechanic to press the brake.
2. 1.2 Unscrew nut -1- using > 9471 - socket wrench .
Remove front drive shaft.

Central bolts: Pressing out drive shaft (shown as an example)
1. 2.1 Secure front drive shaft using suitable aids to prevent it from falling down.
2. 2.2 Screw > 9794 - assembly aid (hub extension) -1- as far as it will go into the wheel hub.
  The spindle -2- must not yet touch the front drive shaft. Turn the spindle -2- if necessary.
3. 2.3 Continue to turn the spindle -2- to the right until the front drive shaft is pressed out of the wheel hub.
  Counter at the dihedron -3- using an open-ended wrench (a/f 36 mm) at the same time.
4. 2.4 Remove front drive shaft and > 9794 - assembly aid .
Check the drive shaft and axle boots for damage, particularly at the joint on the wheel side and the profile shaft, and replace them if necessary.
