Installing Lower Trailing Arm
- Move lower trailing arm into installation position.
- Fasten lower trailing arm -1-
on the front-axle cross member using a new screw and a new collar nut.

- 2.1 Fit threaded connection -2- (do not tighten!).
- Secure control arm -1-
on the lower trailing arm with a screw and collar nut.

Information

- On the 992 Turbo, there is a standard change to the lower trailing arm, taper bushing and wheel bearing housing on the front axle to the other standard version of the 992 variants.
- The threaded connection between the ball joint and wheel carrier has beet changed from the M12 thread to the M14 thread.
- Turbo S vehicles were still built with the M12 thread variant (about 3, 000 vehicles) from the market launch of the model up to (week 46/2020).
- For repairs to wheel carriers/control arm, always read Technical Information 158/20 for the 992 Turbo S:

Fit threaded connection -2-

- Secure lower trailing arm -1-
to the wheel bearing housing.

with wax as required. Use Pfinder AP14/14 for this (see Parts Information)

WARNING: Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly- Risk of crushing
- Risk of damage to components
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).

Threaded joints must only be tightened in zero position to prevent warping in the bearings.

Lift the wheel bearing housing as far as required using > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack
until the lower trailing arm is horizontal. > Zero position

Lift the wheel bearing housing as far as required using > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack
until the lower trailing arm is horizontal. > Zero position
- Install holder for front angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment -1-
