Removing Flywheel

NOTE: Removing and installing flywheel

Leaks
Risk of damage to the flywheel and adjacent components
→ Be very careful during removal and installation.

> VAS 6766 - Counter-hold tool-1- must be fitted on the engine flange.

Brace VAS6766

> VAS 6766 - Counter-hold tool-1- must be inserted into the ring gear -2- of the flywheel.

> VAS 6766 - Secure counter-hold tool-1- using a suitable M10 screw -3- and nut -4- .

Information
- Check that the through-bores on the hub of the flywheel are flush with the screw heads.
- Screw heads can damage the flywheel when unscrewing them if the bores are not flush.
- A damaged flywheel must not be installed!
Remove flywheel -1- .

Unscrew and remove screws -2- .

Remove flywheel -1- .

Clean the threaded bores.
Check diaphragm spring -1- on the flywheel for damage.
If the flywheel shows signs of damage or dents: Replay the flywheel.
