Disassembling Crankshaft

NOTE: Dirt and contamination

Risk of damage to units or components
→ Protect components from dirt and contamination.

→ Clean or replace dirty components.

Fit > P209a - retainer plate-2- on crankshaft flange (flywheel side) using two flywheel bolts.
IMPORTANT: Fine thread.

Clamp the crankshaft -1- in a vice using > P209a - retainer plate-2- .

Remove connecting rods -1- for cylinders 1 to 3.

Connecting rod

Unscrew and remove screws -2- .

Remove connecting rods and bearing covers and set down in such a way that they cannot get mixed up.

Remove connecting-rod bearing shells.
Clean the crankshaft and connecting rods.
