Removing Turbocharger

Information

The procedure for removing and installing is described for one side as an example. The procedure for the other side is almost identical.

Disconnect pressure hose -1- from turbocharger -2- .
Loosen screw-type clamp -3- .

Detach pressure hose -1- from turbocharger connection piece and set aside.

Pressure hose
Right side only:
Disconnect vent line -1- from charge air pipe -2- .

Release and pull off quick-connecting lock -3- .

Move vent line -1- aside.

Remove intake manifold -1- .
Undo V-band clamp screw -2- .

Loosen screw-type clamp -3- .

Disconnect and remove intake manifold -1- .

Replace V-band clamp.

Intake manifold
Disconnect tank vent line -1- from turbocharger -2- .
Unscrew screw -3- .

Detach tank vent line -1- together with holder -4- .

Remove -4- holder and set tank vent line -1- aside.

Disconnect vent line for turbocharger -1- .
Unscrew screw -2- .

Detach turbocharger vent line -1- from oil return line flange -3- and set aside.

Catch escaping oil and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.

Disconnect turbocharger oil return line -1- from turbocharger -2- .
Undo screw securing oil return line flange -3- .

Unscrew screw on holder -4- .

Detach turbocharger oil return line -1- and set aside.

Catch escaping oil and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.

Replace O-rings.

Loosen turbocharger coolant lines -1- from turbocharger -2- .
Unscrew screw -3- .

Detach turbocharger coolant lines -1- and set aside.

Catch escaping coolant and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.

Replace O-rings.

Coolant lines for turbocharger
Disconnect turbocharger oil supply line -1- from turbocharger -2- .
Unscrew screw -3- .

Detach turbocharger oil supply line -1- and set aside.

Catch escaping oil and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.

Replace O-rings.

Oil supply line for turbocharger
Disconnect electric line -2- from turbocharger -1- .
Release and disconnect electric plug connections -3 and 4- .

Unclip clips -5 and 6- .

Move electric line -2- aside.

Loosen catalytic converter -1- .
Unscrew screws -2- on the holder.

Undo nuts on clamping sleeve -3- .

Remove turbocharger -1- .
Unscrew nuts -2- .

Undo V-band clamp screw -3- .

Remove turbocharger -1- .

Replace seal -5- .

Replace V-band clamp -4- .
