- Coat O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93).

- Always replace seals and O-rings.
- Coat all O-rings and sealing surfaces with a light coating of Vaseline to prevent damage to the O-rings.
- Lubricate all bearing locations with a light coating of engine oil (unless a different procedure is specified).

- The tightening torques for the engine are listed in the following documents and must be used in accordance with these specifications.
- Install coolant pump.
- Install lower coolant guide -1-

Fit lower coolant guide -1- .
Tighten screws -2- .
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

- Install coolant regulator housing.
- Remove coolant pipe -1-
for the coolant regulator housing.
Fit coolant pipe -1- with new O-rings for the coolant regulator housing.
Screw in and tighten screw -2- .
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

- Installing solenoid valve for valve lift adjustment.

- Install cylinder heads on the right and left.
- Install camshafts.

- Install cylinder head cover.
- Install ignition coils.
- Install knock sensor.
- Install oil cooler bracket.
- If the oil cooler was removed:
Install oil cooler with coolant hoses.

- Install coolant distributor housing.

- Install belt tensioner damper.
- Install lower coolant pipe -1-

Fit lower coolant pipe -1- .
Screw in and tighten screw -2- .
- Secure coolant connection piece -1-
.
Screw in and tighten screws -2- .
> Tightening torque 33 Nm (24 ftlb.)

- Install heat shield for coolant connection piece -1-

Fit heat shield for coolant connection piece -1- .
Screw in and tighten screws -2- .
> Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
Position electric line -3- and clip in clip -4- on cross member.

- Install starter.
- Install the compressor.

- Install coolant supply pipe -1-

Fit coolant supply pipe -1- with new O-rings into the coolant regulator housing.
Fit and tighten screw -3- .
> Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
Fitting and tightening screw -2- on coolant line holder.
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

- Install actuators for camshaft control.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Install generator.
- Vehicles with Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC): Install hydraulic pump together with pressure and return lines.
- Vehicles without Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC):
Install deflection roller bracket -1- .
Screw in and tighten screws -2- .
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
Screw in and tighten screw -3- .
> Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)

- Install coolant collection unit and coolant lines (on the oil-water heat exchanger).
Coat new O-rings -1- with Kluber Gel.

Insert coolant collection unit -1- into connecting pipes -2- .

Screw in and tighten screws -2- .
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

- Secure coolant hoses -1-
on the oil cooler.
Vehicles with Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC): Connect hydraulic lines (not shown).

Connect coolant hoses -1- .
Fasten spring band clamps -2- using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamp pliers .

Fit positive crankcase vent line -1- with new O-rings and clip into holder.
Clip in connections -3 to 7- .
Screw in and tighten oil module screw -8- .
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

- Install oil filler neck.
Lightly grease new O-ring and fit it.
Fit oil filler neck into the crankcase.
Screw in and tighten screws -1- .
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

- Install fuel lines.
- Loosen main wire harness in engine compartment.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Install intake distributor.
- Secure oil filler neck on the holder at the top.
Fit and tighten screw -2- .
> Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

- Install high-pressure pumps.
- Install shields.
- Install turbocharger together with exhaust manifolds and lines.
- Install valve block with vacuum lines.
- Install drive belt.
- Install drive belt cover and generator cover.
- Install exhaust system.
- Install hall sender.
- Remove engine from engine assembly support.

- Install flywheel.

- Mount the transmission.
