Removing Wheel Bearing Housing

  1. Remove brake disc cover plate -3-  .

    1. 1.1 Unscrew and remove screws -1 and 2-  .
  2. Remove wiring harness holder -1-  .

    1. 2.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .
  3. Remove connecting link -1-  from wheel bearing housing.

    Mounting for connecting link (PDCC)

    1. 3.1 Conventional connecting link:  Unscrew nut -3-  and counter at the articulated bolt on the connecting link.
    2. 3.2 PDCC connecting link:  Loosen threaded joint -3-  .
  4. Support wheel bearing housing using > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack. 
  5. Remove trailing arm -1-  from wheel bearing housing.

    Mounting for trailing arm

    1. 5.1 Loosen threaded joint -2-  .
  6. Remove control arm -1-  from the wheel bearing housing.

    1. 6.1 Loosen threaded joint -2-  .
  7. Remove rear spring strut -1-  from the wheel bearing housing.

    1. 7.1 Loosen threaded joint -2-  .
  8. Remove tie rod/servo motor for rear axle steering -1-  from the wheel bearing housing.

    Mounting for servo motor for rear axle steering on wheel bearing housing

    1. 8.1 Unscrew screw -2-  .
  9. Remove upper control arm (front) -1-  from the wheel bearing housing.

    Mounting for upper control arm (front)

    1. 9.1 Loosen threaded joint -2-  .
  10. Remove (rear) upper control arm -1-  from the wheel bearing housing.

    1. 10.1 Unscrew screw -2-  on the wheel bearing housing.
