Installing Drive Shaft
- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque
→ Always use new screws or nuts following removal.
→ Comply with instructions for repairs.
→ Observe specified tightening torques.
→ Carry out a visual inspection of parts used.
- On used and new drive shafts, clean the bores -2-
on the inner halfshaft flange -1-
with a cloth soaked in brake cleaner.

- Grease the drive shaft splines with Optimoly HT. Do not grease the threads.
Information
Do not kink or pull electric lines and brake hose too tightly.
The drive shaft must be secured against falling.
- Position drive shaft -2-
on the transmission flange, swivel wheel bearing housing -1-
carefully to the rear and guide the drive shaft into the wheel hub.
The help of another person is required.
