Removing Tie Rod

Release the parking brake.
Change into neutral gear.
Remove the drive shaft -1- from the transmission flange.

1. 3.1 Unscrew screws -2- and remove plates (turn the drive shaft in order to access the screws).
  Information
  
  Make sure that the drive shaft does not hang down as this may damage the joint.
2. 3.2 Suspend the drive shaft on rear-axle carrier side section.
Remove tie rod -1- from the wheel bearing housing.

1. 4.1 Unscrew screw -2- .

1. 5.1 Mark eccentric position -2- for installation.
2. 5.2 Unscrew nut -3- . (Screw -2- remains screwed in).

Tilt the wheel suspension outwards at the top so that the eccentric screw can be removed.

6.1 Unscrew screws -2- from the rear-axle carrier side section -1- .

6.2 Unscrew nut -3- from the rear-axle carrier side section -1- .

6.3 Carefully tilt the wheel suspension outwards as far as required at the top -arrow A- so that the eccentric screw -1- can be removed.

Remove tie rod -2- from the rear-axle carrier side section.
