Control dimension front lower edge of vibration damper to lower edge of actuator

    • Lower spring plate must not be fitted!
    • Pressure line connection must be flush with the vibration damper position plate > Position of actuator.
    • Press on the actuator until the control dimension -s- of 148.6 mm +/- 1 mm is reached.

    Information

Do not fit the stop cap at an angle!

    Positioning the lower spring plate

    • Position lower spring plate so that the end of the coil spring is positioned clockwise at an angle -X- to the pressure line.
    • Align lower spring contact bracket with the pressure line (front axle lift system) at an angle of 45°.
  2. For vehicles with front axle lift system:  Press actuator -2-  onto the vibration damper -1-  .

    Information

Explanation of the colored dots on the coil spring:

    • Colored dots -1-  provide information about the allocation to the vehicle variant and equipment (see Porsche Spare Parts Information).
    • Colored dot -2-  indicates the tolerance group to determine whether a tolerance compensation shim must be fitted.

Colored dot -2- yellow  : no  tolerance compensation shim should be installed.

NOTE: If the tolerance is borderline, a tolerance compensation shim can still be installed during production. Do not install a tolerance compensation shim when installing a replacement spring with a yellow dot!

Colored dot -2- blue  : a tolerance compensation shim can  be installed on the production side or not!

    • Only when installing a replacement spring with a blue colored dot, also install a to trance compensation shim!

    WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components
    • Risk of squashing or bruising

→ Do not reach into the danger area.

→ Relieve tension on components before starting work.

→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

  6. Pre-tension the spring strut until the tension on the piston rod is relieved.
  7. Tighten hexagon nut -1-  using a commercially available open socket-wrench insert (af 21 mm) for example Hazet, number 2593.

Counter at the hexagon nut -2-  on the piston rod.

    > Tightening torque 70 Nm (52 ftlb.)

  8. Seal hexagon nut -1-  and projecting part of the piston rod -2-  with Pfinder AP14/4 corrosion protection wax.
