Removing Flywheel - Porsche Doppelkupplung (Pdk)

NOTE: Removing and installing flywheel 
  • Leaks 
  • Risk of damage to the flywheel and adjacent components 

    → Be very careful during removal and installation.

Threaded joint for flywheel for Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)

  1. > VAS 6766 - Counter-hold tool-1-  must be fitted on the engine flange.

    Position counter-hold tool on the flywheel ring gear -2-  .

    Secure the counter-hold tool on the transmission flange using an M10 fastening screw -3-  and nut -4-  .

    Information 

    • Check that the through-bores on the hub of the flywheel are flush with the screw heads. 
    • Screw heads can damage the flywheel when unscrewing them if the bores are not flush. 
    • A damaged flywheel must not be installed! 
  2. Loosen and unscrew screws (multiple-tooth, a/f 12, M10 x 29) on the flywheel. Carefully remove the flywheel (it is quite heavy - so be careful).

    The screws are micro-self-locking and must be replaced! 

    Remove adhesive residues from the threaded bores and clean with brake cleaner.

    Allow a drying time of at 'east 10 minutes!

    Loosening flywheel screws

    1  Socket-wrench insert for internal serration screws, a/f 12

    Information 

    • Check the diaphragm spring on the flywheel for mechanical damage before installing it. 
    • A damaged flywheel must not be installed! 
  3. Check diaphragm spring -1-  on the flywheel for damage.

    There must be no dents or damage! 

    The flywheel must be replaced if the diaphragm spring is damaged -arrow-  .
